They're generally low-key but must-celebrated. My dad had placed a helium balloon in the foyer of the house as his surprise to my brother when he comes home from work on his birthday. Yes, my 28-years-old brother. Now that... is typical of our family celebrations. Never anything overdone and glamorous, but little surprises hidden for you to seek. We appreciate it all. Even a colourful helium balloon at the age of 28. What is it really? Thought. That's all.

And of course, there is always the birthday song and a big slice of cake.
